    • Isaiah 48:14-19 - The potential of the Lord's people
    • Isaiah 48:20-22 - Praise the Lord for redemption
In this chapter there is two parts. In the first part, God sees the hard hearts of the people. He sees their hypocrisy, how they have no excuse, and how deep their sin is. In the same way, God sees all the sin in my life. He sees every thought I think, hears every word I say, sees all the things I do. He knows how bad and sinful I am. But despite that, he still forgives the people, and he forgives me.

The crazy thing is that the Lord sees ALL our sin, and yet he still forgives. It's easy for me to forgive if I don't know what they did, but it is really hard knowing exactly what that person did to me. I am so amazed at God's

    • Isaiah 45:18-21-  The Lord declares his greatness
    • Isaiah 45:22-25 - Looking to the Lord and finding salvation

I learned in this passage that when God is with you, it will be accomplished. When God chose Cyrus to subdue nations before him, it all seemed impossible for Cyrus, but not for God. It says in verse 2 that he will make the rough places smooth and shatter the doors of bronze. This reminds me that in whatever I do, it is because of God. When I do well in a worship set, do well on a test, safe when driving, that's all because of God. He made my paths straight and smooth and broke down the obstacles in front of me.

    • Isaiah 43:22-24 - The hard-heartedness of God's people
    • Isaiah 43:25-28 - God's mercy to the hard hearted people
When I look at this passage, I see God's mercy despite the hard heartedness of the people. I'm so thankful that God treats sinners in this way. It says in verse 25, “I, even I, am the one who wipes out your transgressions for My own sake, And I will not remember your sins." In the previous verse, God lists some things that the people failed to do, but despite that, he will forgive your transgressions and will not remember your sins.

There are many things I regret doing, but I thank God that he forgives my sins and will not remember them.

This chapter reminds me that I don’t need to fear any obstacle. I know this because God’s help is always present, infinitely powerful, able to overcome anything, and with abundant resources. It is a great source of comfort for me that God's help is always ready and present. To know that the God of the universe is on my side, is so much better than say, you have a lot of money in case something bad happens. I thank God for these truths that He has given me in Isaiah and shown me what kind of God He is.
