Scripture – Isaiah 34-35
Observation –
- Isaiah 34:1-7 - The LORD's anger against the people of the nations
- Isaiah 34:1-4 - The fury and judgment of the LORD
- Isaiah 34:5-7 - The bloodshed of the judgment of the LORD
- Isaiah 34:8-17 - The LORD's anger against the land of the nations
- Isaiah 34:8-10 - The land is made desolate
- Isaiah 34:11-15 - The land is inhabited only by animals
- Isaiah 34:16-17 - The certainty of the judgment of the LORD
- Isaiah 35:1-7 - The restoration of the land
- Isaiah 35:1-2 - The land is restored
- Isaiah 35:3-4 - Weak people are restored
- Isaiah 35:5-7 - The sick are healed
- Isaiah 35:8-10 - The highway of holiness
- Isaiah 35:8 - A highway made for God's people
- Isaiah 35:9 - The safety of the highway
- Isaiah 35:10 - The travelers on the highway
When I look at this passage I marvel at God's mercy despite all the judgment that he brang. I saw the fury and the bloodshed of the judgment of the LORD. But then in chapter 35, I see his grace and mercy brought on the land and the people.
