- 2 Kings 19:8-13 - The response of Rabshakeh to King Hezekiah and Jerusalem.
- 2 Kings 19:14-19 - Hezekiah’s prayer.
- 2 Kings 19:20-34 - God speaks concerning the situation.
- 2 Kings 19:20-21 - Sennacherib is worthy of scorn, not fear and trembling.
- 2 Kings 19:22-28 - God’s word to the King of Assyria and his representatives.
- 2 Kings 19:29-31 - God will prosper wounded Judah.

Examples to follow – Come to God in times of distress. Come to him in prayer and in the word.

Application – When you are in a time of distress, come to God in prayer.
Prayer – Heavenly Father, you are the God who defends your people and your name. I know I can call you in times of distress. Help me to know that I don't have to be discouraged in times of need because I know that you are with me. Amen.
