Scripture – 2 Kings 6
Observation –
- 2 Kings 6:1-7 - The recovery of the axe head
- 2 Kings 6:1-3 - The sons of the prophets need to expand
- 2 Kings 6:4-7 - The recovery of the axe head
- 2 Kings 6:8-23 - God protects Elisha from the Syrians.
- 2 Kings 6:8-13 - The king of Syria plots the capture of Elisha
- 2 Kings 6:14-17 - Elisha sees the invisible, spiritual protection, but his servant does not.
- 2 Kings 6:18-23 - The blinded Syrians are led to Samaria
- 2 Kings 6:24-33 - The siege of Samaria
- 2 Kings 6:24-29 - Terrible famine in the besieged city of Samaria
- 2 Kings 6:30-33 - The anger of the King of Israel against Elisha.
Examples to follow – Cry out to God for help. God is always on your side.
Examples to not follow – Blaming God.
Sins to avoid –
Promises to claim – There is spiritual warfare all around us. God's angels are protecting us.
Commands to obey –
Application – When things seem hopeless, God is watching.
Prayer – Heavenly Father. I know that when things are hopeless, you are watching over me and you can save me from my troubles and enemies. Amen.
