Scripture – 2 Kings 7
Observation –
- 2 Kings 7:1-9 - God's promise and what the lepers discovered.
- 2 Kings 7:1-2 - God's promise and the officer's doubt
- 2 Kings 7:3-5 - 4 lepers come to the deserted camp
- 2 Kings 7:6-7 - How God caused the Syrians to abandon their camp.
- 2 Kings 7:8-9 - After enjoying it all, the lepers realize their responsibility.
- 2 Kings 7:10-20 - The plundering of the camp of the Syrians.
- 2 Kings 7:10-15 - The king discovers the empty camp of the Syrian army.
- 2 Kings 7:16 - The fulfillment of Elisha’s prophecy.
- 2 Kings 7:17-20 - The death of the King's doubting officer.
Examples to follow – Good news is meant to be shared.
Examples to not follow – Doubting God's promises. They will come true.
Sins to avoid –
Promises to claim – God can use anybody to fulfill his will. Even lepers.
Commands to obey –
Application – Ask God to use you to fulfill his will.
Prayer – Dear Heavenly Father, I want to fulfill your will. Help me to share the good news that you have given me. Use me in whatever you plan for your kingdom. Amen.
