Application – We must trust God to give us the victory even when it's hard, discouraging, or doesn't make sense.

    • Deuteronomy 31:16-18 - Israel will fall away, the Lord will forsake them
    • Deuteronomy 31:19-22 - Make a song for Israel
  • Deuteronomy 31:23 - Joshua is put as leader
  • Deuteronomy 31:24-30 - Moses warns and reminds Israel

        • Deuteronomy 26:1-11 - Recall history at the time of first fruits and celebrate.
        • Deuteronomy 26:12-15 - Declare that you have followed God's commands

        • Deuteronomy 23:2 - No one of illegitimate birth may enter
        • Deuteronomy 23:6 - No one of foreign birth may enter
        • Deuteronomy 23:7-8 - Edomites and Egyptians may enter
        • Deuteronomy 23:9-14 - No one with an emission may enter
        • Deuteronomy 23:16- An escaped slave may enter

      Application – God gives mercy to unintentional sin. God punishes intentionally sin

      Prayer – God. You punish all sin. I thank you for sending your son so that we don't have to suffer in hell. Amen.

      Deuteronomy 15-16

       Scripture – Deuteronomy 15-16

      Observation – 

      • Deuteronomy 15:1-23 - The rest year
        • Deuteronomy 15:1-4 - Return property at the end of every 7 years
        • Deuteronomy 15:5-6 - Listen obediently that God may bless you
        • Deuteronomy 15:7-11 - Don't let the approaching 7th year make you less generous.
        • Deuteronomy 15:12-15 - Set your slaves free on the 7th year with thankfulness.
        • Deuteronomy 15:16-17 - If he wants to stay with you.
        • Deuteronomy 15:18 - It shall not be hard to set him free.
        • Deuteronomy 15:19 - Consecrate the firstborn.
        • Deuteronomy 15:20-23 - Eat the first blood in the place that the Lord commands you
      • Deuteronomy 16:1-20 - The feasts
        • Deuteronomy 16:1-8 - The Passover.
        • Deuteronomy 16:9-12 - Feast of weeks.
        • Deuteronomy 16:13-15 - Feast of booths.
        • Deuteronomy 16:16-17 - Make a trip to the temple to celebrate and give offerings
        • Deuteronomy 16:18 - Appoint judges.
        • Deuteronomy 16:19-20 - You shall be fair and impartial 
      • Deuteronomy 16:21-22 - You shall not set up false idols

      Application – Be generous and compassionate. Be fair and gentle as God has been to you.

      Prayer – Dear God. Help me to be generous and compassionate to those around me even when they can't give me things back because you have been kind and generous to me first. Amen.

      Promises to claim – Obey these commandments that God may bless you

      • Deuteronomy 13:1-18 - Warning against Idolatry
        • Deuteronomy 13:1-5 - Kill false prophets
        • Deuteronomy 13:6-11 - Kill even those close to you who entice you away from God
        • Deuteronomy 13:12-17 - Kill entire cities that go astray
        • Deuteronomy 13:18 - God will be merciful if you keep all his commands
      • Deuteronomy 14:1-21 - You are different from the nations around you                                            
        • Deuteronomy 14:1-2 - Do not shave your head when mourning
        • Deuteronomy 14:3-8 - Don't eat unclean land animals
        • Deuteronomy 14:9-10 - Do not eat unclean water animals
        • Deuteronomy 14:11-20 - Do not eat unclean air animals
        • Deuteronomy 14:21 - Do not eat dead bodies
      • Deuteronomy 14:22-29 - Offerings
        • Deuteronomy 14:22-23 - Bring offerings where the Lord commands you
        • Deuteronomy 14:24-26 - Feast and celebrate if the place of worship is too far.
        • Deuteronomy 14:27-29 - Do not neglect the Levites

      Application – Get rid of deceitful influences. Even your close family

      Prayer – Dear God, help me to fight against temptation. Help me to get rid of the false prophets and things in my life. Help me to destroy them and to cut them off from my life. Amen.

      Promises to claim – God will be merciful if you follow his commands
