Deuteronomy 19-20

 Scripture – Deuteronomy 19-20

Observation – 

  • Deuteronomy 19:1-13 - Laws of refuge
    • Deuteronomy 19:1-3 - Prepare cities of refuge
    • Deuteronomy 19:4-7 - Accidental murder
    • Deuteronomy 19:8-10 - IF God blesses you, add 3 more cities of refuge
    • Deuteronomy 19:11-13 - Intentional Murder
  • Deuteronomy 19:14 - Laws of territory
  • Deuteronomy 19:15-21 - Laws of testimony
    • Deuteronomy 19:15 - Two or three witnesses are needed
    • Deuteronomy 19:16-18 - The judges shall investigate if you have a malicious witness
    • Deuteronomy 19:19-21- Eye for an eye
  • Deuteronomy 20:1-20 - Laws of warfare
    • Deuteronomy 20:1-4 - Do not be afraid. The Lord is with you
    • Deuteronomy 20:5-9 - Let people who have duties to be departed
    • Deuteronomy 20:10-11 - Offer terms of peace
    • Deuteronomy 20:12-14 - If not, all booty, women and children are yours
    • Deuteronomy 20:15 - Do to all not promised to you
    • Deuteronomy 20:16-17 - Destroy everything in the cities God has given you
    • Deuteronomy 20:18 - So that they not tempt you
    • Deuteronomy 20:19-20 - Chop only the non fruit trees

Application – God gives mercy to unintentional sin. God punishes intentionally sin

Prayer – God. You punish all sin. I thank you for sending your son so that we don't have to suffer in hell. Amen.

Sins to avoid – Being a malicious witness, intentional murder, leaving temptations
