Scripture – Deuteronomy 31

- Deuteronomy 31:1-13 - Leadership changed
- Deuteronomy 31:1-2 - Moses will no longer be your leader
- Deuteronomy 31:3 - Joshua will lead you
- Deuteronomy 31:4-6 - God will deliver the nations into your hand
- Deuteronomy 31:7-8 - Moses encourages Joshua
- Deuteronomy 31:9-13 - Moses reminds the people of their covenant
- Deuteronomy 31:14-22 - Israel will fall away
- Deuteronomy 31:14-15 - The Lord appears to Moses and Joshua
- Deuteronomy 31:16-18 - Israel will fall away, the Lord will forsake them
- Deuteronomy 31:19-22 - Make a song for Israel
- Deuteronomy 31:23 - Joshua is put as leader
- Deuteronomy 31:24-30 - Moses warns and reminds Israel
- Deuteronomy 31:24-27 - Put the book of the law in the Ark
- Deuteronomy 31:28-29 - Moses talks to the leaders of Israel
- Deuteronomy 31:30 - Moses talks to all of Israel and teaches the song.
Application – We are sinners. We can't follow God's command exactly.
Prayer – Dear God. We can't keep our promises. I fail and don't follow my promises exactly. Help me to keep my promises and forgive me when I fail.
Sins to avoid – Falling away. Turning away from God. Forsaking him.

Commands to obey – Be strong and courageous.
Summarize and apply – Moses gives his final words to Israel and appoints a new leader.
