Scripture – 2 Chronicles 14-15

Observation – 

  • 2 Chronicles 14:1-8 - The characteristics of King Asa
    • 2 Chronicles 14:1-6 - The blessedness of the reign of King Asa
    • 2 Chronicles 14:7-8 - Asa's emphasis on defense
  • 2 Chronicles 14:9-15 - Deliverance from the Ethiopians
    • 2 Chronicles 14:9-11 - The threat from Ethiopia and the cry to God.
    • 2 Chronicles 14:12-15 - God gives Judah victory over the Ethiopians.
  • 2 Chronicles 15:1-7 - Azariah brings a warning from God
    • 2 Chronicles 15:1-2 - Asa is nudged to seek God
    • 2 Chronicles 15:3-7 - The reminder of past disobedience
  • 2 Chronicle 15:8-19 - The reforms of King Asa
    • 2 Chronicles 15:8-9 - King Asa cleanses the land and gathers the nation together for worship.
    • 2 Chronicles 15:10-15 - A public covenant made in Jerusalem
    • 2 Chronicles 15:16-19 - The reform in the King's household

Commands to obey – Cleanse your body as a living sacrifice holy and pleasing to God.

Application – Cleanse your body and offer it as a sacrifice to God.

Prayer –  Heavenly Father. I want to offer my body as a sacrifice to you. I want to serve and please you. Help me to cleanse my body and my ways so that I can serve you fully. Amen.
