Examples to follow – Even if you repent, there is still a cost for sin.
Examples to not follow – Don't repent because you want to get off on punishment. Do it because you actually feel sorry.

Application – Do not repent because you want to get out of punishment.
Prayer – Heavenly Father. Help me to repent sincerely and whole heartedly. Help me to not repent because I want to get out of punishment. Amen.
