2 Chronicles 18-19

Scripture – 2 Chronicles 18-19

Observation – 

  • 2 Chronicles 18:1-28 - Jehoshaphat goes to Samaria
    • 2 Chronicles 18:1 - Jehoshaphat’s unwise alliance with Ahab.
    • 2 Chronicles 18:2-3 - Ahab sets his eyes upon Ramoth-Gilead.
    • 2 Chronicles 18:4-8 - Jehoshaphat proposes that they seek God in the matter.
    • 2 Chronicles 18:9-11 - An object lesson from the false prophets
    • 2 Chronicles 18:12-15 - The prophecy of Micaiah, a true prophet
    • 2 Chronicles 18:16-17 - Micaiah speaks the true prophecy from the LORD.
    • 2 Chronicles 18:18-22 - Micaiah reveals the inspiration behind the 400 prophets.
    • 2 Chronicles 18:23-28 - The reaction of Ahab and the prophets
  • 2 Chronicles 18:29-34 - The death of Ahab
    • 2 Chronicles 18:29 - Jehosophat and Ahab go into battle

Promises to claim – God is working behind everything.

Commands to obey –

Application – Don't seek God because you want something good. Seek God because he will work for the good of those who love him. 

Prayer – Heavenly Father. Help me to seek you because you will work for my good, even if it means that I won't like it. Help me trust you in every circumstance and to go to you in prayer. Amen.
