1 Chronicles 11-12

Scripture – 1 Chronicles 11-12

Observation –

  • 1 Chronicles 11:1-9 - David becomes King over Israel
    • 1 Chronicles 11:1-3 - The elders declare David king at Hebron
    • 1 Chronicles 11:4-9 - David takes control of Jerusalem, making it his capital city.
  • 1 Chronicles 11:10-47 - David's mighty men
    • 1 Chronicles 11:10 - David needed these men for his success
    • 1 Chronicles 11:11-14 - Two of David's mighty men
    • 1 Chronicles 11:15-19 - David’s mighty men and the mission of the water of Bethlehem.
    • 1 Chronicles 11:20-25 - Other accomplishments of David’s mighty men.
    • 1 Chronicles 11:26-47 - The honor role of David's mighty men
  • 1 Chronicles 12:1-22 - The devotion of David's army
    • 1 Chronicles 12:1-2 - Even the Benjaminites, the tribal relatives of Saul, come to David.
    • 1 Chronicles 12:3-15 - David's diverse army
    • 1 Chronicles 12:16-22 - David receives loyal soldiers at the stronghold
  • 1 Chronicles 12:23-40 - The royal army at Hebron
    • 1 Chronicles 12:23-37 - The army of the tribes of Israel
    • 1 Chronicles 12:38-40 - Their great support of David

Examples to follow – Have loyal friends like David. Be a loyal friend. Be devoted to your friends and leaders.

Commands to obey – Be buff so that you can kill a lion in a pit.

Application – Be a loyal friend and be physically able to meet that need.

Prayer –  Heavenly Father, help me to be a loyal friend. Help me to be physically able so that I can help them in what they need. Help me to be the one they would think to call when they need help. Amen.
