 Scripture – Matthew 24

Observation – 

  • Matthew 24:1-3 - The destruction of the temple and its implications.
    • Matthew 24:1-2 - Jesus predicts the destruction of the temple.
    • Matthew 24:3 - Jesus’ prediction brings up two questions.
  • Matthew 24:4-14 - The flow of history until Jesus’ return.
    • Matthew 24:4-8 - Jesus describes conditions during the period between His Ascension and the time before His second coming.
    • Matthew 24:9-14 - Jesus describes what His disciples must expect during the time between His Ascension and Second Coming.
  • Matthew 24:15-35 - Jesus describes the sign of His coming and the end of the age.
    • Matthew 24:15 - The abomination of desolation
    • Matthew 24:16-20 - Flee immediately when it comes.
    • Matthew 24:21-28 - The Great Tribulation
    • Matthew 24:29-31 - The Return of Christ
    • Matthew 24:32-35 - Jesus speaks more regarding the timing of these events.
  • Matthew 24:36-44 - More on His coming, but from a different approach.
    • Matthew 24:36 - No one knows the day but God's
    • Matthew 24:37-39 - The coming will be like the days of Noah
    • Matthew 24:40-44 - Jesus cautions his disciples to be ready
  • Matthew 24:45-51 - The parable of the two servants
    • Matthew 24:45-47 - The Faithful Servant
    • Matthew 24:48-51 - The Evil Servant

Application – Live like He is coming back. Evangelize like there is no tomorrow.

Prayer – Dear God. You are coming back soon. Help me to have a broken heartedness for those around me because I know you are coming soon. I know you will come and judge everyone. Help me to prepare those around me to be ready. Amen.
