- Matthew 10:1-15 - Twelve disciples chosen and commissioned
- Matthew 10:1-4 - The twelve disciples are listed.
- Matthew 10:5-6 - Where they are to go: to the Jewish only
- Matthew 10:7-8a - What they are to do: go out preaching and healing
- Matthew 10:8b-15- How they were to provide for themselves
- Matthew 10:16-42 - Jesus prepares the disciples for persecution.
- Matthew 10:16-18 - Persecution will come
- Matthew 10:19-20 - God will defend and speak for the disciples who are persecuted before rulers
- Matthew 10:21-23 - The extent of persecution: even among families.
- Matthew 10:24-25 - Why Jesus' disciples must expect persecution
- Matthew 10:26-31 - They should not fear but be bold
- Matthew 10:32-39 - The attitude Jesus’ disciples must be equipped with.

Application – Do things not because of the reward, but because Jesus said so. Be bold during persecution.
Prayer – Dear God. I see when I don't want to do things because I don't feel like it. Help me to do these things because they are good for me and because I want to please you. Amen.
