  • Psalm 106:44-48 - God's mercy
    • Psalm 106:44-46 - Because of His mercy, God heard their cries
    • Psalm 106:47-48 - Praise be to the God of mercy.

This psalm highlights what sin does to people. There is judgement, and a seperation from God. But by His mercy, we are saved.
When I look at this passage, I see how merciful God was to the Israelites. How he continued to forgive them when they fell in the same sins again and again. I feel disgusted at how the Israelites continued to use God's mercy, but I realize that that is how I use God's mercy. I continue to feel moody, annoyed and angry. Then, I ask God to forgive me, but then just fall into the same sin again!

I might feel like God is being TOO merciful, but if he isn't merciful, then we have NO chance of being saved.

Psalm 106:43-45 - Many times He would deliver them; They, however, were rebellious in their counsel,
And so sank down in their iniquity.44 Nevertheless He looked upon their distress When He heard their cry;45And He remembered His covenant for their sake, And relented according to the greatness of His lovingkindness.
