2 Kings 25

 Scripture – 2 Kings 25

Observation – 

  • 2 Kings 25:1-21 - Jerusalem is conquered
    • 2 Kings 25:1-3 - Jerusalem is besieged
    • 2 Kings 25:4-7 - Zedekiah is captured and killed
    • 2 Kings 25:8-10 - The destruction of Jerusalem
    • 2 Kings 25:11-17 - The remainder is captured and plundered
    • 2 Kings 25:18-21 - The authority of Nebuchadnezzar over Jerusalem and Judah.
  • 2 Kings 25:22-30 - Judah and Jerusalem under the Babylonians.
    • 2 Kings 25:22-24 - Gedaliah is made governor
    • 2 Kings 25:25-26 - The assassination of Gedaliah
    • 2 Kings 25:27-30 - Jehoiachin’s situation in Babylon improves.

Promises to claim – There is an end to God's mercy and grace.

Application – Don't keep testing God's mercy, because it will end at some point.

Prayer – Heavenly Father. You are a merciful God. I know that I sin. Help me to not keep sinning repeatedly unrepentantly. Help me to repent whole heartedly. Amen.
