Scripture – 1 Kings 8:1-53
Observation –
- 1 Kings 8:1-21 - The Ark is brought to the temple
- 1 Kings 8:1-2 - All of Israel assembles at Jerusalem.
- 1 Kings 8:3-9 - The ark of the covenant is set in the Most Holy Place.
- 1 Kings 8:10-13 - The glory of God fills the temple.
- 1 Kings 8:14-21 - Solomon’s speech at the dedication of the temple.
- 1 Kings 8:22-53 - Solomon's prayer
- 1 Kings 8:22-23 - Solomon recognizes the nature and character of God.
- 1 Kings 8:24-26 - Solomon recognizes God as the maker and keeper of promises.
- 1 Kings 8:27-30 - Solomon asks God to dwell in this place and honor those who seek Him.
- 1 Kings 8:31-32 - Hear when Your people take an oath at the temple.
- 1 Kings 8:33-34 - Hear when Your people are defeated.
- 1 Kings 8:35-40 - Hear in times of plague and famine.
- 1 Kings 8:41-43 - Hear when a foreigner prays.
- 1 Kings 8:44-53 - Hear when Israel goes out to battle and prays from captivity.

Application – Pray for God to be with you and to hear you.
Prayer – Heavenly Father. You are the maker and the keeper of promises. Hear me when I am defeated. Hear me in times of trouble, hear me when I am fighting sin, hear others when they need help as well. Amen.
