1 Kings 2:19-46

Scripture – 1 Kings 2:19-46

Observation – 

  • 1 Kings 2:19-46 - Solomon secures his throne
    • 1 Kings 2:19-21 - Bathsheba brings the request of Adonijah to Solomon.
    • 1 Kings 2:22-25 - Solomon has Adonijah executed for his challenge to the throne.
    • 1 Kings 2:26-27 - The exile of Abiathar.
    • 1 Kings 2:28-35 - The execution of Joab.
    • 1 Kings 2:36-46 - Solomon settles the past with Shimei.

Examples to follow – Don't hold grudges against those who have wronged your family.

Examples to not follow –Going to God for help when you have sinned against Him.

Commands to obey –

Application – When somebody hurts your family, forgive them, but still be fair.

Prayer – Heavenly Father, help me to not take vengeance on those who hurt or bully my family. Help me to forgive them. Amen.
