Scripture – 1 Kings 21
Observation –
- 1 Kings 21:1-16 - Naboth is murdered for his vineyard.
- 1 Kings 21:1-3 - Naboth refuses to give up his land
- 1 Kings 21:4-7 - Ahab pouts like a baby
- 1 Kings 21:8-14 - Jezebel plots and orders the murder of Naboth
- 1 Kings 21:15-16 - Ahab takes possession of Naboth's land
- 1 Kings 21:17-29 - Elijah confronts Ahab
- 1 Kings 21:17-24 - God pronounces judgement on Ahab
- 1 Kings 21:25-26 - Ahab's great wickedness
- 1 Kings 21:27-29 - Ahab humbles himself and God relents from judgment in his life.
Examples to follow – Repent from your wickedness.
Examples to not follow –
Sins to avoid – Murder. Plotting maliciously to kill someone.
Promises to claim –
Commands to obey –
Application – Repent from your wickedness and humble yourself when you sin. Do it before God punishes you.
Prayer – Heavenly Father, help me to repent from any sin that i commit. Although I'm not planning to murder anyone, let me have the same humbleness and repentance that Ahab had. Amen.
