Observation – 

  • 1 Kings 15:1-24 - Two kings of Judah
    • 1 Kings 15:1-8 - The reign of King Abijam
    • 1 Kings 15:9-11 - Summary of the reign of King Asa of Judah.
    • 1 Kings 15:12-15 - The reforms of King Asa of Judah.
    • 1 Kings 15:16-24 - Asa buys the favor of Ben-Hadad, King of Syria.
  •    1 Kings 15:25-34 - Two kings of Israel
    • 1 Kings 15:25-32 - The short reign of Nadab, king of Israel.
    • 1 Kings 15:33-34 - The reign of Baasha, king of Israel.

Examples to follow – Get rid of the idols in your kingdom.

Examples to not follow – Do it fully. Asa left some of the high places.

Sins to avoid – Getting rid of sin but keeping some of it.

Promises to claim – 

Commands to obey –

Application – When you cleanse yourself of sin, do it fully and with no remorse.

Prayer –  Heavenly Father. Help me to cleanse myself of sin fully. Help me to realize what it is and destroy it, just like King Asa did. Amen.
