Scripture – Matthew 5

Observation – 

  • Matthew 5:1-2 - Intro to the sermon on the mount
    • Matthew 5:1 - Jesus prepares to teach his disciples
    • Matthew 5:2 - Jesus begins to teach
  • Matthew 5:3-12 - The Beatitudes
    • Matthew 5:3 - Blessed are those who are poor in spirit
    • Matthew 5:4 - Blessed are those who mourn
    • Matthew 5:5 - Blessed are those who are gentle
    • Matthew 5:6 - Blessed are those who hunger
    • Matthew 5:7 - Blessed are those who are merciful
    • Matthew 5:8 - Blessed are those who are pure in heart
    • Matthew 5:9 - Blessed are those who are peacemakers.

Application – Blessed are those who are persecuted and insulted because of me. Blessed are those who are peacemakers. Jesus is the only way we can be saved.

Prayer – Dear God. Help me to be a peacemaker in the home. Help me to not be a trouble maker and make trouble in the home. Help me to make peace between siblings. Help me to take responsibility for my actions. AMen.
