1 Samuel 1

 Scripture – 1 Samuel 1

Observation – 

  • 1 Samuel 1:1-18 - Hannah's barrenness and vow
    • 1 Samuel 1:1-2 - The family of Elkanah
    • 1 Samuel 1:3-7 - Elkanah and his family journey to the tabernacle
    • 1 Samuel 1:8-11 - Hannah's godly vow
    • 1 Samuel 1:12-14 - Eli watches her pray and accuses her of drunkenness
    • 1 Samuel 1:15-18 - Hannah responds to Eli's accusation; Eli blesses her.
  • 1 Samuel 1:19-28 - The birth and dedication of Samuel
    • 1 Samuel 1:19-20 - Samuel's conception and birth.
    • 1 Samuel 1:21-23 - Hannah keeps the child until weaned
    • 1 Samuel 1:24-28 - Hannah dedicates Samuel to God

Application – Divine power is possible only by submitting to Jesus. Pray when you want something.

Prayer – Dear God. You are an all-powerful God. Divine power comes only from you. Help me to be like Hannah who had faith in your power. Amen.
