Scripture – Joshua 22
Observation –
- Joshua 22:1-9 - The armies from the tribes east of the Jordan are sent home
- Joshua 22:1-4 - Joshua thanks them for a job well done
- Joshua 22:5-6 - Joshua gives them a blessing
- Joshua 22:7-9 - The armies depart with spoils
- Joshua 22:10-34 - Altar by the Jordan
- Joshua 22:10 - Eastern tribes make an altar
- Joshua 22:11-12 - The west tribes of the Jordan find out
- Joshua 22:13-15 - The high priest, and leaders of each tribe confront them
- Joshua 22:16-18 - Phinehas brings an accusation against them
- Joshua 22:19 - They invite them to sacrifice at their altar
- Joshua 22:20 - Example of Achan
- Joshua 22:21-23 - The eastern tribes respond
- Joshua 22:24-29 - It was built as a memorial not sacrifice
- Joshua 22:30-31 - The explanation is accepted
- Joshua 32-34 - The matter is resolved
Application – Attempt to reconcile before you fight.
Prayer – Dear God. Help me to reconcile and swallow my pride with others. Help me to trust that you will work in their heart. Amen.
