  • We will be united

Although right now, God has blessed me with work that is easy for me to do, it won't be in the future. I pray that God would strengthen me in whatever comes my way. John 16:33 says that in this world we will have trouble, but we can take heart because Jesus has already overcome the world.

In this chapter, we see how Jeremiah is called to live differently from the rest. He is commanded to be set apart. This was probably very hard for Jeremiah. In the same way, God calls us to be different from the world. He doesn't want us to conform to the patterns of this world, but instead, be transformed. I pray that I will live faithfully to what God wants me to do. I pray that he would strengthen me to do what is right rather than what I want to do.

    • Jeremiah 15:15-18 - The painful prayer of Jeremiah
    • Jeremiah 15:19-21 - A promise to protect the prophet
In this chapter, God describes the inevitable destiny of Judah. He will destroy the people and send them into exile, but will have mercy on the remnant. He also has mercy on Jeremiah. I see in this chapter that God rewards those who faithfully work for Him. Jeremiah endured reproach, sat alone, and was full of indignation. This chapter reminds me that although work for the Lord will be hard, God will reward those who suffer in his name.

I must remember that I am a part of God's waistband, I am useless without Him, and I am meant for His glory.

v21 is about shepherds and how if they don't seek the Lord, they will not prosper and the flock will scatter. This is important for me to have shepherds that seek the Lord, and also be someone who seeks the Lord. Even if I'm not a shepherd, God still calls me to seek Him. God says that if I do not seek him, I will not prosper.

v21a - The shepherds do not seek the Lord
v21b - The shepherds do not prosper

The senseless and faithless shepherds will not propser in life and with their flock.
