    • Psalm 103:19 - The contrast between creation and God
    • Psalm 103:20-22 - The contrast between angels and God

From this passage, I focused a lot on Psalm 103:1-14. It just reminded me of all the different qualities of God. The one that I relate the most with is how gracious he is in verses 8-10. He is angry for a time, but He will not keep his anger forever. When I fall short, this verse reminds me that he is slow to anger and abounding in love. I know in verses 11-12 that he forgives and has compassion on those who fear Him. I know that when I sin, God will forgive me.

This also reminds me to be slow to anger and abounding in love. How can I be fast to anger when God is so patient with me? It doesn't make sense! I pray that I will continue to grow to be slower to anger and abounding in love.

Psalm 103:8 - The Lord is compassionate and gracious, Slow to anger and abounding in love.

    • Psalm 100:4 - Come to his house to give thanks
    • Psalm 100:5 - Why? God is good and merciful

Timeless Outline –

Examples to follow – Reminder of why we give thanks. We give thanks because he is good. not because we want to see friends. Make it a point to not think of church as a place to hang out.

Examples to not follow –

Sins to avoid –

Promises to claim –

Commands to obey –

Application –

Prayer –

When I go to church, I look forward to being with friends and hanging out and playing volleyball. I sometimes feel like I want to get past the small group and the sermon just so I can hangout and talk. But as Psalm 100 says, we come to his house to give thanks because God is good and merciful and not because we want to hangout with friends. I should put praising God and worshiping him at church first before thinking about other things. Even though talking with friends isn't wrong, make it a point to worship and glorify him through conversations and playing.
